Reading Alden’s answers made me realize she’s cool, down to earth and definitely someone you would want to have drinks with. She’s the Co-Founder of MAÄT, a sleek performance legging that has pads at the knees, making it easier to move around if you’re practicing yoga, or running around the playground chasing after toddlers.
Before the launch of her company she sat down and answered a few questions.
Fashion Icon: Georgia O’Keeffe, I guess I have a New York /New Mexico connection with her, She has such a strong intelligent presence in her photographs, her clothes were mostly simple loose, and flowing, but really I have hat envy.

Favorite Restaurant: Shigure in Tribeca, It feels like you are in Japan, and their food is amazing, and nothing I would be able to cook for myself at home.
Last book read: Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher By Timothy Egan, Its a biography of Edward Curtis, very inspiring.
If you could live in any piece of clothing, what would it be: A utility shirt, I love pockets. I want all the pockets inside-outside as many pockets as possible. The pandemic has made me want to travel light but be prepared.
What was missing from the market that you decided to create MAÄT : Having flexible padding for your knees that stays in position and walks around with you where ever you go, it’s genius. There is nothing else quite like it on the market.
What was your last purchase before the pandemic: A hoodie at the Scope ART Fair.
Plans for after the pandemic: I would love to travel to Europe and dance with my Frenchie’s, It’s been too long.
