Lips are not immune to environmental issues, they are exposed to the sun, wind and cold. Lips are prone to dryness, cracking, and chapping. Plus they are sensitive to skincare that might accidently touch them, like peels, retinol and peptides.
I look after my lips, I never go to bed without applying one of my favorite lip balms. I also tend to use lip exfoliants, by Fresh and By Terry. If you don’t want to invest in lip exfoliants, you can just brush your lips in the morning, I do that sometimes. I have a lot of lip balm products, I feel like I collect them.
Skincare is a serious business, I admit there was a time in my life when I never left the house without my signature red lip, or a primer, at minimum. Times have changed and I am finding just having good skin is all I need, and the right lip product to keep my lips soft and healthy.
Besides lip balms there are now lip serums, various tinted shades, and new products that smell delicious like Fresh’s Sugar Coconut and their Advanced Therapy balm.
I’ve also been using 11Skin’s Meso infusion Lip Duo, although I admit I’m not using the pink gloss. I just don’t look good in glosses or most pinks, or any other shade that isn’t red.
Here’s to paying lip service…….
